Sam Boland studied Public Policy and Human Rights at the University of Chicago, with a specific focus in global health and health policy. A Truman and Marshall Scholar, Sam will pursue a PhD in Public Health from the London School in Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. This will complement his previous field work in global health, including maternal health work in South Sudan, rural community health work in Kenya, and disease surveillance during the 2013 – 2015 West Africa Ebola outbreak in Sierra Leone. Sam intends to later pursue an MD and eventually work for an organization like the CDC or WHO.
