Leah graduated from Agnes Scott College with a major in International Relations and minor in Public Health. She has studied the detrimental effects of exclusive emergency preparedness and response planning in the Caribbean and Latin America. Using a sociopolitical lens, she hopes to develop interventions and policies that address the impacts of natural disasters on health. Leah is the US Virgin Islands’ first Marshall Scholar and is also a Truman Scholar. She will pursue a MSc in Health and International Development at the LSE and a MSc in Caribbean and Latin American Studies at University College London.
