John McHugh graduated Highest Distinction from Indiana University with the top undergraduate academic award, majoring in East Asian Languages and Cultures. He is now a Research Associate at Harvard Business School, authoring case studies on Chinese companies. Previously, he worked on U.S.-China policy at the Council on Foreign Relations and Center for Strategic and International Studies, where his research was featured in The Washington Post, Financial Times, and Axios. He studied in China on State Department scholarships and worked in Kyrgyzstan researching Chinese investments. John plans to study China’s technology policies and global economic governance at the University of Oxford.
